At the close of the 2016 racing season, Justin Gozzi wasn’t sure he’d ever get the chance to strap himself into a race car again.  With a baby on the way and many personal and professional changes taking place, he never officially retired, but his racing future looked bleak. Fortunately, he got a second chance.  After selling off much of the family’s racing equipment, Gozzi Racing is rebuilding, and has stepped back to the ultra-competitive Sportsman division with a focus on fun and a brand new perspective: “I loved Big Block racing. There’s nothing like 800 horsepower throwing you back into the seat. Unfortunately, we weren’t in a position to go all in and race the way it needs to be done. As a small, family team, we were beaten before we pulled into the track. Not from a lack of effort certainly, but you’re wasting your time trying to race with used tires and an outdated engine. We needed to take a step back and learn from our mistakes, and put a program together that will allow us to race the way that we want to race. My family and crew are behind me, and I think we’re doing just that. I can’t wait to get rolling again!”
